EULOGY
Valour was a true gentleman and tough old man. Despite many offers of the sofa, Valour was an outdoors dog, prefering his house amongst the pack. He loved to look after the young puppies both when running and around the yard. He was such a happy-go-lucky dog and was enthusiastic about everything and anything, always excited to do something new or old. Valour loved playing games as well as serious work and it was always hard not to think of him as a puppy. He loved to be rubbed & scratched all over and would nearly knock you over leaning into the rub or contort himself into a headstand position. He was many people favourite dog and after loosing his eye sight completely he would sneeze and snort on you to build up a sensory image. Even in blindness Valour was happy and always playing. Valour's hearing worstened and he became completely deaf. Valour had still been enjoying short 1-2 mile fun runs, but just after Christmas he refused his harness and would not leave the safety of his house and he could not find his food bowl right under his nose. His sense of smell had also finally given up on him. Valour was full of life and loved being surrounded with his beloved pack. He did not belong alone in a dark world. Its the hardest decision I've ever made in my life, but Valour died happy being cuddled tightly.
