EYE TEST:
Orso is a real character with a very gentle nature. He was imported from Blake and Jennifer Freking's Manitou Crossing Kennels, USA in November 2006. He is from a strong line of Alaskan's Anadyr. Confident, outgoing, very friendly, hard working and with a great working attitude. Orso is a big, powerful, fast and dedicated worker. His transition to sprint races was very smooth and he is one of the fastest dogs in the kennel. Although Orso is happy to run anywhere on the team, he is exceptional in wheel due to his ability to drive hard, keep a good line and the gangline tangle free. Recently he has been running in lead and doing an amazing job. He listens well and is desperate to please and get things right. He doesn't hesitate or slow at corners, drives hard and sets a very fast pace. Orso has a wonderful laid back temperament, is well mannered, quiet, socially well adjusted and loves cuddles. He is a well boned and very handsome dog and his Anadyr blood really shows with his excellent formation and gait.
Orso is a very experienced USA race dog. Some of his credits include twice finishing the 400 mile, Beargrease Marathon (in 2005 on Jen's 2nd Place team), finishing the Beargrease 150, the Can-Am 60 and numerous mid-distance events and leading our 4 dog team to 2nd place at Culbin Rally UK. His mother Alaskan's Splatters of Anadyr (Lippy X Sergi) was one of Blake & Jen's race leaders and his father Alaskan's Balto of Anadyr "Ace"(Alexie X Avaram) finished 4 Iditarods, 1 Hope race and numerous Iditarod qualifiers. Orso is a litter sibling to "Deuce" who led Blake's Yukon Quest and winning Beargrease 2004 team & "Punto" who finished Iditarod 2008 on Jen's team. 3 of Orso's half siblings and 3 nephews ran on Blake's record breaking Iditarod team and 2 nephew/neice ran on Jen's team.
